Middle School Latin Teacher (Long-Term Substitute)
St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 710 students (grades 6-12), is seeking a long-term (10 weeks) substitute for a full-time Middle School Latin Teacher position from January 4 to March 12, 2027.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, enthusiastic, and dynamic teacher with a willingness and ability to teach Middle School Latin. The school is looking for candidates who utilize a variety of teaching methods, are technologically proficient, and who love working closely with energetic students and a dedicated faculty.
Responsibilities:
- Teach (3) sections of Middle School Latin (Latin IA, IB and II);
- Serving as an advisor to a group of Middle School students;
- Supervise students during lunch, study halls, recess periods, afternoon activities, library, Chapel and assembly programs required of the students, and attend team meetings, as assigned.
Qualified candidates will be multifaceted teachers with experience in a similar role. They will also have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in the Latin with a strong preference for graduate-level work;
- Demonstrated understanding of the developmental nuances associated with language learners in grades 6-8.
