PRN Athletic Trainer
St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 710 students (grades 6-12), is seeking PRN Athletic Trainers.
The PRN AT will work with the Sports Medicine Director / AT and assistant AT to provide game and practice coverage on campus for grades 6-12 for football, XC, volleyball, field hockey, soccer, tennis, swimming, crew, lacrosse, baseball, track, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, and canoeing. The athletic training sports medicine department currently operates under the athletic director within athletics; however, we work closely with the health center staff and team physician. PRN coverage is primarily needed from 3:00 to 7:00 pm (or later) during the week and on Saturdays during the fall season. Compensation is competitive for schools of our type and region; continuing education, certification and licensing dues are included.
Certificate/License: Must be NATA BOC certified and possess or be in the process of acquiring licensure from the state.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work well with the Sports Medicine Director and Assistant AT. Willingness to discuss patient cases is essential.
- Communication with parents, health center, AD, coaches and AT’s.
- Concussion care - utilization of ImPACT testing.
- Documenting all injuries and treatments in EMR (Magnus Health)
- Ability to work closely with the health center nursing staff.
- Interacting with student athletes in a positive and professional manner.
- Responsible for daily field and gym water set up for practices and games.
- Flexibility to work variable hours including nights and weekends.
- Willingness to travel to away games on occasion.
- Desire to work with a diverse, international student population.
- Assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Work Hours (all PRNs):
- August (pre-season): Morning, afternoon, and/or evening
- During academic year: 3:00 to 7:00 pm on weekdays or Saturdays
- Holidays: as needed during long weekends, holiday break and/or spring break
- Summer: work summer camps during the month of June
